I tasted it...

The call we got on Tuesday from the Molsons was super exciting and gave us something to look forward to. However...on Wednesday, there was much more exciting news! I got a call in the afternoon from a real estate agent (ugh-another one?), but this one was different---she had a signed offer in hand from the Bacardi Breezers! Gulp! Wowowowowow! So we made arrangements to meet the agent near our floor hockey game since it's all so time sensitive. In the meantime, I called Matt (1/2 of the Molsons) just to let him know that we had an offer, we were going to meet with them but it was unlikely anything would be signed that night.

My heart rate was out of control all day and night.

We met the agent, she was very very nice and seemed very very genuine. Their offer was $10K under our current asking price and had very few conditions. The big consideration, of course, was that on top of the offer, we had to consider 2.5% agent commission that we'd be out as well. Anyways, we took the paperwork and agreed to touch base on Thursday once we'd thought about it and met with Matt. We then played an intense game of floor hockey, which somehow we won--woo hoo! More adrenaline pumping like crazy.

On the way home, I see there are a couple voicemails-one woman looking for a showing of the house and one from Matt asking if he'd be able to come by later that night and present his offer. OMG OMG OMG OMG. So we rush home, have a mad dash of tidying and get my brother to take our crazy cat and their stuff out of the house. Matt comes over and his offer is $6K less than our asking, and we finally settle without BS on $2.5K below asking. On top of that-there's no agent commissions whatsoever! Hubs and I are both super excited and literally jump up and down once the chit chat is over and Matt leaves. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

So now it's with the lawyers, inspection is scheduled for Wednesday and it will hopefully be a done deal before we know it. It's so nice to know numbers now for calculations and we even went out yesterday to buy our appliances! The unsettled feeling is still definitely there since it's not set in stone yet, but Matt seems to want to buy our house as much as we want to sell it to him, so I'm hopeful all these people I keep turning away for showings won't need to be contacted in desperation in a couple weeks. Blech--I can't even think about it.

In the meantime, I'll just say wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! in excitement.
