On our way to a decent yard

There was a fun development when hubs and I got home from our respective jobs Friday afternoon...They'd begun our fence! Yay!

One of our current biggest complaints about our house is the exterior. With a bigger lawn comes a bigger mess and ours is pretty bad. It's all mud, garbage and stink. Both hubs and myself as well as most of our guests have had at least one moaker (mud soaker) in the last few weeks as the ground's thawed. I can't imagine what'll be awaiting us tonight after a 10 degree day (not that I'm complaining).

Needless to say-we're both very much looking forward to the day when the builder will be cleaning up the yard and even more so when they'll be laying sod. A real lawn---I can't wait.
So here's kind of what it'll look like in a few weeks (or, likely, months) from a house down the street:

Again-hopefully without the garbage and with slightly greener grass.

And here's what we came home to Friday afternoon:

While it's just the unfinished fence posts, and we're thinking it'll stay that way for another month at least until the sod is laid, at least it's a start.
